Midwest Cannabis Patients Consulting Association, or MCPCA, started as a Facebook Group in the Fall of October 2022 when Founder, Kayla Fearing, moved back to Minnesota after living out of state for three years in Michigan, and Illinois. Ms. Fearing was frustrated that "Midwest Cannabis Laws," were not similar, and it was on the patients to keep up to date on laws and policies for every state they planned to ever visit.  For Ms, Fearing, personally, that meant three midwestern states- Minnesota (her home), Michigan (her in-laws), and Illinois (her partner). Ms. Fearing decided to create a Facebook Group to add cannabis patients from those regions in order to compare policies, advocacy ideas, and cannabis knowledge- In the fall of 2024, after two years of Facebook discussions, Ms. Fearing decided to make the group an official advocacy group known as

Midwest Cannabis Patients Consulting Association. (MCPCA).

The goal of MCPCA is to connect Midwesterners together over their plant medicines- We have members from across the Midwest, and we’ve advocated for Cannabis Policies in Minnesota, Michigan and Illinois, so far, and have been successful in Minnesota with our Designated Cannabis Caregivers Law passage in 2024, and working with the Minnesota Office of Cannabis Management to implement Remediation disclosure standards. 

We have multiple projects planned for 2027, and Welcome Patients, Cultivators, Advocates, Business Owners, Lobbyists, and Curious Citizens to join us.
